What is the TU Dublin Lead Award?

"The prestigious TU Dublin LEAD Award recognises students co-curricular work with TU Dublin clubs, societies, sports, students’ union and volunteering in the community. "

Basically, it's an extra module which helps and encourages students to lead an activist during college, few get the opportunity to be invited and get into the award so I was very lucky to be accepted and get a merit in the Award.

What did I do?

For the award, I decided to take the TUDublin Caving Club and the Mountaineering Club to France. This was not an easy challenge and I learned loads from it. The Lead award made us choose three skills to focus on and made us make reflective essays and timelines to keep on track. Here is my reflective essay towards the end of the project:

My role was to manage and lead the project, there were many hurdles along the way but i learned plenty, and if you want you can see pictures from the trip on the caving club's Instagram :)

A total of 27 people came on the trip, and we meet up with the local caving and climbing club, going rock climbing and caving with them all over the place. it was a very stressful challenge but one that I cant wait to do again, hopefully on a bigger scale with a bigger team as I want to expand my knowledge.
