As Jamie's internship supervisor, during his stay in the development department at Bioviva, here are my assessments of his work and his behavior.
Jamie immediately fit into the team. Through his social and friendly behavior, his good humor and his wit, he very quickly became a full member of the team, as if everyone had known him for a long time.
But above all, Jamie was able to make his place thanks to his talents in game design, his deep reasoning and his relevant initiative.
He has really improved our process for testing the game Faites vos oeufs, thanks to developing the game on Unity. This allowed us, in a short time, to test numerous ways of playing and to highlight inconsistencies, which we were then able to correct.
He created a full booklet for our Nature Challenge Escape game and his creation was appreciated by everyone who tested his booklet. This task was not simple because it was necessary to work in real conditions with strong constraints and in a short time. Jamie took on this challenge brilliantly!
Jamie actively participated in the life of the development department, helping everyone on all subjects, making prototypes, helping with English translations, improving game design of all the games in development, but also taking part in debates about illustrations, graphics, ergonomics and materials.
He demonstrated his passion, knowledge and flexibility, very important things for a creative person. He did and redid his tasks, without showing frustration or dissatisfaction, by getting on with the task, to always improve the final result, which is one of the most complex parts of our job.
Finally, he always kept his smile and his good humor and contributed to good understanding within the team.
Jamie is a person who, I have no doubt, will find his place in the game design sector as much through his interpersonal skills as through his know-how. He is a person of value, personally and professionally.
