Starting on the 28th of August, I entered the Office for the first time at 9 am Monday morning.
I was given a tour of the office by Igor and met the Dev Team.
I had my first team meeting shortly after, where I was introduced to the projects that I would be working on.
After the team meeting, Igor and I had a talk about the work we would be doing on Faites Vos Oeufs, we had a meeting with the Author of the game and talked about their contract and pay, allowing me to see the publisher aspect of the company. We discussed the pricing of the game and the marketing advantages we would have with the chosen catchphrase and name. The meeting was successful as the Author agreed with the contract terms and the returns Igor had on the Project.
After we had another talk, this time about the ESCAPE. We talked about how much creative and design freedom I would have on the projects, concluding that I would be in charge of 50% of the project. The Game is split into 2 parts, and I will create the story and game for the second half of the game, important to note that the 2 halves of the game are completely separate and have very few links, except for a game "tool" that is an interactive piece, which has not yet been designed.
as for the rest of the week, I started by noting what Défis Nature cards I will be using for one of the projects, as it will be based on animals that the company has already released in the Defis Nature line. by the end of the week, I had created a road map for the game and gave myself deadlines for the story, cards, games, and the tool for the ESCAPE.
as for Faites Vos Oeufs, I have not worked on it at all as it was not urgent and Igor was testing out changes he had made to the game
I participated in a playtest for Faites Vos Oeufs in order to study how people played and interacted with each other. but Igor was the one in charge of the playtest, as it was my first time testing the game.
I was also assigned a translation job for their newly released "DINO PICNIC" and "À LA FOLIE !"
I work Mondays to Fridays from 9-5 with lunch at 1 pm every day. the office is nice and open, but unfortunately, I don't have a desk, seeing as Igor is in the office only twice a week, I take his spot when he isn't here, and sit at the cut-out and prototyping section when there are no more desks available.
