This is my report on what I did for the Project!
Firstly my roles:
I was the Project Lead, meaning I took important decisions if needed and made sure that everyone in the team was aware of their tasks and deadlines. I set up weekly meetings and compiled all the finished progress on this website!
I was also the Lead Programmer, programming 99% of the project, I think there may be one or two lines from other people, and I didn't make the shader. Other than that I was responsible for everything in the build, from the UI interacting to the sounds playing.
I was also the Designer of the Game, Sketching out the first view the player would see, and how they would progress through the game. this meant that I could prioritise with the team what needed to be done.
lastly, as part of my leadership role, I compiled everyone's work at the end of the week and made a "weekly" playable build. this would involve getting files and scenes, asking for a small brief/explanation and stitching it all together in one scene. this required a lot of bug fixing and testing.
due to the amount of programming and stitching together, this meant I had the most activity on the project, the artists mainly stayed in their modelling and texture programs. Justin would just upload his work and make sure the prefabs where easy to find and where linked with the textures, Dennis made the UI in one scene, and Darragh uploaded his work from time to time. out of all the commits to GitHub, I made 36 of the 56 commits. These commits can be "seen" on the right here.
Creating the GitRepo wasn't hard, but I didn't realise until the very end I didn't do it right, it was saving files it should've been. this meant in the last days of the project, the git repo bugged out and refused to upload anymore. after fixing the git ignore and removing files, I got it to work again thankfully.
Every week we tried to have a meeting, this was to discuss everyones progress on theor parts of the projects, but to also discuss major issues or problems people ran into, my job at these meetings was to make sure everyone left the meeting with a set of tasks for the week. after the meeting i would compile the trello into a log and then publish it here.
