Today Igor is back from holidays, which means it's back to work on my escape as we should be getting the illustrations back from the artist now, we will be putting them into the booklet and playtesting it with the illustrated visual cues now, which will hopefully make the game feel more polished and complete.
I also wrote down the rules for the catacomb game as we are having a meeting and testing session of my prototype today, if all goes well it will be the final project I have an impact on before I leave, so I'm hoping all goes well and they like my prototype enough to go in that direction.
The pitch went well, project will be presented to our big boss and the clients :)
Today I just learned I need to write 4-8 pages for my internship report, which I find hilarious considering my colleagues rarely communicate or do any sort of interaction with me since starting. And based on my previous interactions I feel like I could fill 6 pages with Lorem ipsum text and I'll get a decent grade. As much as I love my course there has been little to no support for work placement, but I'm not surprised considering that only 4 of us did it I think. Anyway would still be cool to have met/talked to my work placement handler from TUDublin at some point before or during my internship, but with a week and a couple of days left, I don't have high hopes.
Today I wrote up some instructions for the catacombs prototype in both English and French, so that we may present it to our boss to get the green light for the project.
They are blurred out for confidential reasons as the project won't be released by the time these logs are made public. I will release more information if the project is changed to the point that I can no longer point and say I have any impact on it anymore, or when the project is released.
I also started translating a text for Igor today, its for a game about ticks which is a long task, but its worth it as it will be used in an educational sense, so my work will hopefully help people.
started today by translating the tick game, got through most of it, and then realised I had to write a report, so I started on that, other than that nothing much outside of that was done.
started by brushing off my report, then I got some great news, we got the first draft of the illustrations back! so I set up a meeting with Igor and started putting the drafts into the booklet to see what needed to change. the biggest issue is that we are missing an illustration, but other than that it's only a resizing issue. so I'm writing my report and taking notes on the illustrations while I wait for our meeting.
Today we we had a little hiccup with the illustrator, little miscommunication per say, so i clarified in an email what he had misunderstood.
other than that i worked on my final report and some more translation, i don't think ill be able to finish all my translation in time for the end of my internship next week, so I'm going to have to hand off that work to somebody else before it is to late!
My email explaining what was wrong, for crediting and other legal issues I cant show the illustrations.
